The Engagement Coordinator provides skilled engagement, referral and connection to services, while working closely with Peer staff in the R&R program to provide person-centered, trauma-informed interventions and services through this SAMHSA funded program. The purpose of this program is to assist individuals with accessing necessary harm reduction interventions, bridging the digital divide in treatment services for both service recipients and staff, and addressing grief related to COVID and increasing overdose deaths. The Restore and Recovery team will provide consultation and education to S:US staff, service recipients and the communities where services recipients live. The Engagement Coordinator collaborates closely with service recipients, staff and community organizations to develop culturally-appropriate materials and strategies to raise awareness about the dangers of opioids, fentanyl test strips as an overdose prevention tool, availability of naloxone, and other harm reduction strategies as needed. The Engagement Coordinator should provide culturally safe care with a demonstrated commitment to anti-colonial practice.   The salary for this role is minimum 55,000 - maximmum 60,000

The Maintenance Specialist ensures the proper maintenance and upkeep of the facility. Assists in developing consumer’s ability to maintain individual residents on basic cleaning and safety.   SCOPE OF ROLE:         Provide quality cleanliness oversight to assigned building(s).             - ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:   - Maintain cleanliness in assigned areas within the facility.   S:US is seeking a Peer Specialist for our men's shelter in Brooklyn.   This position is located at 599 Ralph Avenue Brooklyn, NY 11233.     The Peer Specialist will: - Outreach/Engagement/Bridge Building: Helping to facilitate engagement with teams by forging strong connections with participants and families, undertaking outreach activities designed to promote community awareness of S:US services, encouraging help-seeking, and at times serving as a bridge between team members and participants when they experience ambivalence about treatment. - Relationship Building: Developing authentic, meaningful relationships with individuals and families through empathy, sharing experiences, listening and collaborating with genuine curiosity and interest. - Embracing Creative Narratives: Peer Specialists need to be able to understand, share and discuss multiple frameworks for understanding life experiences such as psychosis with participants and the rest of the S:US team. Peer Specialists intentionally use language in the service of listening to understand and making space for complex personal stories of recovery and resilience. - Advocacy: Peer Specialists advocate with and for program participants both in the larger community and on the team. - Co-Creating Support and Wellness Tools: Collaborate with participants to clarify their personal visions and develop their wellness toolkit. Along with other team members, Peer Specialists support participants in strengthening their self-awareness, building life skills, and connecting to resources and community outside of the S:US team. - Influencing Team Culture: Whenever possible, positively influencing the team culture by advocating for clients, promoting a youth friendly approach and encouraging the use of recovery-oriented language. S:US Peer Specialists also work actively within the team itself to help build an environment that operates from a belief in the human potential to grow and an understanding of human diversity. - Team Communication: Peer Specialists maintain open and frequent communication with the team. He/she/they will monitor and ensure active adherence to the all plans for each person supported with intellectual/developmental disabilities.    The Shift Supervisor will ensure proper supports are in place and necessary resources are made available to Direct Support Professionals to ensure proper adherence to person supported scheduled of activities.  The Shift Supervisor serves as a role model to staff and people supported and will help to develop best practices to support both the person supported and Direct Support Professional.  This opportunity is available at our program located 123rd Ave in Jamaica Queens . The salary is $18 per hour.     ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:   Person Centered Planning - Ensures that a person-centered focus is used to provide care and support by all staff who work within the program actively seeking out different approaches. - Promotes the independence and self-determination of individuals, utilizing person-centered practices that focus on the individuals’ strengths and preferences while simultaneously addressing their needs. - Promotes participation in activities of meaningful daily living, such as vocation, recreation, volunteerism, engagement. - Ensures a positive climate that promotes respect and dignity for people supported. - Provides opportunities for people support to personalize their environment, schedule and experiences in program. - Supports the person’s independence, choice and outcomes. - Provides prompt, efficient, and personalized support to meet requirements, requests, and concerns. - Additional responsibilities as deemed necessary and appropriate by the Vice President of Day Services or designee. - Supports the mission, vision, values of S:US.   Regulatory - Provide habilitation services to each client as prescribed in their service plans (CFA, Individual Service plan, Habilitation plan). - Responsible for overall functioning of the facility during the absence of the Program Director. - In the absence of the Program Director, supervises and instructs all Direct Support Professionals on shift.         - Responsible for people supported and agency funds and expenditures during shift (petty cash, recreation etc.). - Ensures coverage of a shift when a Direct Support Professional is absent. ·       Acts as a functioning member of the staff, meeting the needs of the people supported·       Responsible for the physical condition of the program including agency vehicles; ensuring that they are maintained in a safe and sanitary condition. - Participates in staff meetings, supervisors’ workshops, interdisciplinary team (IDT) and committee meetings. - Channels approved information pertaining to staff and agency to Program Specialists. - Provides supervisory counseling and discipline to Direct Support Professionals as necessary - Identifies facility needs and makes the relevant staff aware. - Ensure optimal utilization of the resources available in order to achieve efficiencies.    Quality Improvement - Carries out policies and procedures of SUS, in accordance with OPWDD and other funding sources. - Reports all incidents, ensuring consistent adherence to OPWDD and agency policies - Assesses and monitors staff productivity on an ongoing basis. - Responds appropriately to community, family and agency contacts. - Maintains, develops and supports the person support to staff assignment - Meets with Program Director on a regular basis to discuss pertinent shift and Direct Support Professional’s issues and successes. - Monitors Direct Support Professional’s time sheets on an as-needed basis. - Ensure fire drill completion on shift.

- SCOPE OF ROLE: The Family Specialist is responsible to work collaboratively as part of an integrated behavioral health team to address the needs of the “whole person”, including their physical and emotional health.   - ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: - Conduct in-depth family histories and family assessment for service planning integrating the needs of all family members individually and the needs of the family unit; make appropriate recommendations to the treatment team. - To increase family stability, the Family Life Specialist will assess family’s behavioral and relational problems and refer them to needed services. - Strengthen the families by offering services such as child care planning, self-sufficiency goal setting, educational assistance for children, working with foster care agencies, crisis intervention, family mediation and conflict resolution, and parenting skills workshops. - Complete all progress notes, treatment planning goals, written assessments, and other required documentation of services rendered in a timely fashion. - Conduct home and office visits as necessary. - Participate with and support client in service planning for family reunification. - Coordinate with other public systems, providing direction and advocacy on behalf of client families, including child welfare agencies, courts, and public assistance as necessary. - Prepares report for Assistant Deputy Director of Mental Health Services and Executive Director, including any problems, and proposals for changes in policies or program design - Other duties as assigned   The Salary for this positon : The Mininmum is $35,000 and the Maximum is $40,000
