This position is located at 246 Echo Place Bronx, NY 10457   The Residential Specialist is responsible for providing a warm ,compassionate welcome to new shelter residents. You will be tasked  with  promoting person-centered services, focusing on supporting the independence of the people we serve.  You will manage the primary coverage in the building 24 hours a day 7 days a week, 365 days a year and at times functioning independently using your judgement to guarantee the safety of the people we serve and the building. The Regional Director will provide day to day strategic guidance to ensure that the Homeless Services division is fully executing on program operations and oversite functions. Peer Specialists intentionally use language in the service of listening to understand and making space for complex personal stories of recovery and resilience. - Advocacy: Peer Specialists advocate with and for program participants both in the larger community and on the team. - Co-Creating Support and Wellness Tools: Collaborate with participants to clarify their personal visions and develop their wellness toolkit. Provide quality cleanliness oversight to assigned building(s).             - ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:   - Maintain cleanliness in assigned areas within the facility. This includes but is not limited to: floor care (mopping, sweeping, buffing, stripping and waxing), cleaning bathrooms, emptying trash, separating recyclables, emptying garbage, wiping windows and walls, and cleaning stairways. - Carry out minor repairs and building maintenance throughout assigned areas of the facility. - Responsible for exterior snow and ice removal as well as upkeep of the grounds. This includes but is not limited to sidewalk maintenance, maintaining landscaping, and all other aspects of the building exterior. - Assist Staff with special events by setting the chairs and tables up for use making sure the area is clean and safe for all - Maintain building maintenance tools and machinery to ensure that all items are in good working condition. - If Program does not have a superintendent, Responsible for ordering cleaning supplies, paper supplies, lightbulbs, garbage bags, etc. and maintaining biweekly inventory. - Assist in moving and storing program supplies, office furniture, office equipment, dorm furniture, consumer belongings, and other items in and around the facility when and where appropriate. - Comply with all SUS Employee Policies, Procedures and Protocols SUS Cooperate Compliance Policies - Willing to assist when EMERGENCIES arise in the Facility - Must wear SUS maintenance uniform and must maintain uniform so that it is clean and presentable at the start of each shift. - Complete other tasks assigned by Director or Superintendent - Attend staff meetings, group supervision, and trainings as needed. - Assist with apartment turn over following move outs to prepare apartments for new families, this includes plastering, sanding walls and painting; transporting resident and property to new apartment/unit. - Assist Super with the maintenance of the building  The Salary for this role is Min $15.76 -  Max $17.10

S:US is seeking a Sr. Case Manager for our Adult Families' Shelter in Manhattan. This position is located at 12 East 31 Street, New York, NY 10016   The Senior Case Manager will oversee the Case Managers and Housing Specialist.  He/she will provide supervisory oversight and guidance to Case Manaagers  in the development of initial service plans and service plan reviews, referring clients for in-house and community-based medical, mental health, and supportive social services, and referring clients for in-house and community-based medical, mental health, and supportive social services.  Will provide oversight and training to Case Managers in assisting clients with the financial entitlement and medical benefit application process.  The Senior Case Maanger will provide supervisory oversight and training to Case Managers and Housing Specialists in group and individual counseling, workshops, and recreational activities.  Will schedule and assign groups and activities to Case Managers as needed, and run groups as necessary. He/she will Manage program census and census data: Manage the intake process; assign intakes to Case Managers. Perform full intake and assessment with new clients within 24 hours of admission as needed.
