    Position Description
    The ideal candidate will have enthusiasm and passion for working with people with intellectual/developmental disabilities. Services are provided in OPWDD-certified residences.
    The incumbent will promote an environment of respect, learning and independence for the individuals and model the necessary behaviors that support independence and the aspirational desires of the individuals.


    In this full-time role, the Residential Team Leader is responsible for ensuring our individuals have the supports and resources necessary to lead meaningful lives which align with their needs and aspirations within their respective homes and communities.

    • Manage and direct the overall flow of the shift including assigning staff to appropriate individual ratios.
    • Serve as a Team Leader on assigned shift supervising DSPs (Direct Support Professionals) in conjunction with the Assistant Program Director.
    • Ensure the coordination of all recreation and other community activities that promote the participation and independence of individuals.

    This opportunity is available at our program located on Pinegrove St in Jamaica Queens, NY with a schedule of:Monday,Tuesday,Saturday and Sunday 3pm -11pm Friday 7;00am- 3pm

     Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree in human services or a related field preferred and/or five years’ experience in ID/DD or related supervisory/management experience in a residential setting.
    • Effective written and oral communication skills.
    • Behavior Tech Certification a plus.
    • Basic computer skills (e.g., MS Office Suite & Windows)
    • Special skills: AMAP; SCIP-R; CPR & First AID preferred*

     *Note: S:US will provide on-the-job training for such certifications.
