  • Position Overview

S:US is looking for Porters to assist in maintaining the cleanliness of our shelter programs. The duties include: floor care (mopping, sweeping, buffing, waxing), cleaning bathrooms, separating recyclables, emptying garbage, wiping windows and walls, and cleaning stairway. The Porter is also responsible for the exterior of the building, snow and ice removal and upkeep of the grounds. Also, assisting with moving and storing program supplies, office furniture, office equipment and dorm furniture.

    Qualifications

    • High School Diploma or GED required. 
    • At least two years of building maintenance experience in a large residential/institutional setting working with special needs population required.
    • Must possess good interpersonal skills.
    • NYS Driver’s License preferred, not required.
