  • Position Overview

    The NY START program is seeking an OPWDD experienced Registered Nurse to join the Richmond Kings team in Brooklyn.

    • NYS Licensed Registered Nurse
    • Experience working persons with IDD a must; experience with mental health concerns preferred
    • Must have excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
    • Bilingual English and Spanish speaking is a plus

    Qualifications

    • Conducts physical health assessments in the resource center
    • Manages and administers medication as required
    • Provides a range of treatment, rehabilitation, and support services to participants
    • Meets regularly with each guest to assess health status
    • Provides health management education
    • Review treatment and medication history
    • Communicates with each guest primary medical provider to coordinate medical treatment
    • Provide training to program staff on disease, treatment options, and new advances in disease management
    • Responsibility for documentation of services provided
    • Responsible for ensuring and documenting revisions to the plan as the participant’s needs change
