The Vocational Specialist conducts initial vocational/educational assessment for all clients within specified time frame and makes determinations for job readiness, including programs that will target youth and young adults. The Vocational Specialist prepares and conducts scheduled educational groups addressing interviewing, daily living and interpersonal skill development, conduct mock interviewing sessions with clients. The incumbent coordinates community referrals and follows-up on initial assessment and recommendations and network with the business community to assist with maintaining and developing relationships to promote job development and placement for individuals. The ideal candidate has the ability to establish trust and a rapport with mentally health and/or substance use consumers, their families, or significant others and have the ability to design/conduct task focused groups and knowledge of group process.
