    Services for the UnderServed (SUS) is a New York-based nonprofit organization that provides housing and support services to 25,000 individuals and their families living in New York City and Long Island.  SUS believes every New Yorker has the right to lead a life of purpose.

    Position Overview:

    Under the supervision of the Program Director, the Senior Social Worker (SSW) is responsible for client case management and the coordination of client services, in addition to supervising the Case Manager and the Child Care staff. Major responsibilities include; interview residents to determine suitability for residential services, maintaining clinical records and preparing monthly statistical reports. The SSW makes counsel-related referrals to services, represents the program at conferences and community events and escorts clients to appointments.

    Qualifications

    Requirements:

    • LMHC or LMSW required
    • Two years of experience in the field of domestic violence
    • Work experience in the fields of domestic violence, mental health, child welfare, child development, or substance abuse, or other related fields
    • Strong working knowledge of psychodynamics, group work, case management, health systems, group residence, and child development
    • Knowledge of trauma informed care and homelessness
    • Above average communication skills. Good interpersonal skills. Ability to collaborate and function as a team member in a multi-faceted, complex crisis intervention environment.
    • Bi-lingual a plus
    • Knowledge of Windows, Excel, Power Point and AWARDS a plus
