    Position Summary: The Entitlements Director is responsible for ensuring individuals/consumers in the Behavioral Health, Developmental Disabilities, Urgent Housing and Substance Treatment Programs obtain and maintain their Entitlements.   

     

    Essential Job Functions:

     

    • Conduct periodic audit of entitlements charts (electronic and paper)
    • Ensures resolution of all entitlements issues such as Medicaid billing, exceptions codes, Social Security Administration and SNAP denials
    • Report outstanding/unresolved entitlements and rental arrears
    • Develop tracking system to ensure staff are submitting re-determination and re-certification of benefits as per regulatory guidelines
    • Ensure accurate Medicaid numbers are submitted and check requests are timely and uniformed manner
    • Ensure all consumers are eligible for entitlements before admission to SUS
    • Provide Finance Department with all new consumers benefits income status regularly
    • Oversee process by which staff escort consumers to various government and city agencies
    • Oversee correspondence with various agencies and consumers
    • Process appeals and pursues legal channels to obtain funding for consumers who have been denied entitlements
    • Represent consumer and agency at consumer administrative hearings
    • Keep abreast of public policy issues and new developments in the field
    • Attend information trainings and seminars to remain current on trends and entitlements system changes
    • Regularly required to travel to sites in and outside the organization

    Qualifications

     

    • Bachelor's Degree require; Master's Degree preferred, but not required  
    • Experience working in the Behavioral Health, Developmental Disabilities, Urgent Housing and Substance Treatment Programs/field
    • Minimum four years of experience in HRA Public Assistance,  Food Stamp, Medicaid, managed care plans, Supplemental Social Income (SSI), Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) application process and regulations
    • Demonstrated experience in effective communication, proficient computer skills, organization and multitasking.

    • Provide coaching and mentoring to promote professional growth and career development
    • Escalate issues to VP of Entitlements as appropriate      
    • Supports the mission and vision of SUS and its core values.
    • Safeguard protected information, ensuring adherence to state/federal regulations and agency policies/procedures.
    • May be assigned other tasks and duties reasonably related to the job responsibilities
