Position Overview

 

 

Services for the UnderServed (SUS) is a New York-based nonprofit organization that provides housing and support services to 25,000 individuals and their families living in New York City and Long Island.  SUS believes every New Yorker has the right to lead a life of purpose.

Position Summary: Responsible for providing general administrative support for the President/CEO, COO and Chief of Staff

to help ensure the effective, efficient and professional implementation of administrative functions.

 

The incumbent will provide highly sensitive support to the Executive Management Team. Responsibilities require the exercise of independent judgment and strict confidentiality.

  • Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Must be able to prioritize and organize workflow to ensure effectiveness and efficiency; manage tight deadlines; provide quick turnaround of unanticipated requests.
  • Assist the CEO, COO, Chief of Staff and other members of the leadership team, in ensuring that the needs of the agency's external constituents are appropriately addressed — including meeting coordination and correspondence with regulatory and funding bodies.
  • Manage heavy internal and external meeting logistics for CEO, COO and Chief of Staff including booking and prepping rooms, creating and preparing necessary materials, organizing catering, providing conference call details, IT support for presentations and conference call. Liaise with executives, presenters, consultants and assist with their needs.
  • Provide administrative support for CEO’s transit and medical claims as necessary and handle other personal requests as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

 

Qualifications

 

Education & Experience:         

  • Bachelors Degree, with at least 5 years office administrative experience.

Skills: 

  • Exemplary communication skills, including communicating effectively with consumers, colleagues, subordinates, superiors, the general public, representatives of public and private organizations, both in person and by phone.
  • Excellent business writing, organizational, problem solving, oral and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity of use of standard office equipment. Computer literacy with advanced knowledge of Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Publisher, Adobe Acrobat Standard.
