Position Summary: The Purchasing Associate will procure designated materials, supplies, equipment for SUS departments and facilities at optimum quality, price, and delivery

Responsibilities:

  • Process requisitions for household supplies, food, medical, special needs, office, furniture, copier & printer supplies, appliances etc.
  • Knowledge of different types of finished products, maintenance and equipment, medical etc.
  • Negotiate pricing with vendors
  • Able to perform value analysis
  • Research market for new vendors and products
  • Maintain Food and Household Budgets on the system
  • Match purchase orders to invoices, collecting POD’s
  • Maintain Bellwether Purchasing Item Pricing Database
  • Troubleshoot Bellwether issues over the phone
  • Advanced Excel and Word Skills
  • Provide customer service to programs & vendors regarding purchasing issues
  • Training liaison for staff using bell Purchasing System
  • Assist in department projects as needed
  • Provide coverage for other departmental staff as needed
  • Provide coverage/help for Fleet Administrator-maintain database of agency vehicles and drivers, assist with vehicles service requests and accidents, apply for DOT parking Permits etc.

Qualifications

Qualification:

 

High School/GED Diploma. (Bachelor’s Degree or College Credits preferred.)

Three or more years’ experience working in similar capacity

Demonstrated ability/experience in customer service and data entry

Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and the Internet.

Knowledge of accounts payable/receivable.

Ability to work under pressure in a fast paced environment
