Position Overview

The Program Coordinator will be responsible for providing oversight, management and clinical support for the NYSSHP Team (two (2) Family Life Specialists, one (1) Family Vocational Specialist and two (2) SRO Vocational Specialists) servicing 100 families and 75 individuals living in SUS supportive congregate and scattered site housing located throughout Manhattan and the Bronx. Also responsible for program development, evaluation, staff supervision and clinical development, clinical assessment counseling and coordination of overall services. Ensures appropriate services are provided with the ultimate goal fostering growth, independence, stability in the home, along with improvement in educational, vocational and employment areas.



  • Provide direction and direct supervision to the staff members through individual sessions, case conferences, and staff meetings
  • Responsible for recruitment, hiring, development, disciplinary actions, and dismissal of all NYSSHP staff members with the assistance and direction of senior management
  • Develop and maintain program standards to ensure compliance with all contractual agreements, reporting requirements, personnel policies and procedures. Development and evaluation of program services
  • Responsible for fiscal oversight of program and assisting with budget monitoring and development
  • Maintain all appropriate documentation for reporting requirements accurately and in a timely manner
  • Represent SUS Inc. in professional and appropriate manner in community and act as liaison for SUS with outside agencies
  • Participate in training and skill enhancement seminars in and outside of the agency
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Regional Director



  • MSW with at least five years prior experience working with substance abuse and/or MICA population, two years supervisory experience and LMSW preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of Word, Outlook, Excel. Prior experience with AWARDS HMIS a major plus.

Visual and manual dexterity:

  • The candidate should be able to read documents for analytical purposes such as computer information, software, computer graphic design programs, etc.
  • Limited applications of manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.

Work environment / physical effort

  • The work environment involves no physical risk or hazardous conditions.
  • To perform the essential functions of this job, the candidate is routinely required to do office work, administrative duties and travel to the different sites that service our consumers.
