Position Overview

 

Services for the UnderServed (SUS) is a New York-based nonprofit organization that provides housing and support services to 25,000 individuals and their families living in New York City and Long Island.  SUS believes every New Yorker has the right to lead a life of purpose.

Position Overview:

The Social Worker will provide group, individual counseling, case management, psychotherapy, and medication management to chemically dependent clients with moderate to severe co-occurring mental health and/or medical disorders. The Social Worker will also provide couples and/or family counseling where clinically appropriate. Complete all related documentation, including progress notes and treatment plans. Communicate with other staff members as needed and participate in case conference and meetings.

Qualifications

 

EDUCATIONAL / TRAINING REQUIRED:

  • LMSW/LCSW required
  • Bilingual Spanish required
  • Preference is given to those who have experience working on a multi- disciplinary team and/or previous experience with homeless population.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, to assist adults of diverse ethnicities, backgrounds, ages, and sexual preferences.
