The Senior Employment Specialist assists veteran participants in preparing to re-enter the civilian workforce by providing person-centered, employment-focused case management. They connect veterans to resources, training, certifications, and workshops that support job search, placement, and long-term job retention. This role guides veterans through program services and S:US/community supports, from pre-employment to ongoing career development, while working closely with the Veterans Services team to advance employment and housing stability goals for veteran families.
In addition to these responsibilities, the Senior Employment Specialist provides leadership within the employment team by supervising, training, and mentoring Employment Specialists. They serve as the primary liaison to the Department of Labor DVOP/AJC, manage HVRP referrals, support strategic program goals, foster community partnerships, and ensure compliance with funder requirements.
