SCOPE OF ROLE
Transporting luggage or belongings for guests or patients.
Assisting with the loading and unloading of goods or materials.
Providing assistance to guests or visitors, such as directing them to their destination or answering questions.
Maintaining cleanliness and tidiness in public areas, including lobbies, hallways, and restrooms.
Delivering items or messages to different departments or individuals within the organization.
Ensuring the safe and efficient movement of people and equipment within the facility.
Adhering to safety protocols and regulations while performing tasks.
Collaborating with other staff members to ensure smooth operations and customer satisfaction.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintain cleanliness in assigned areas within the facility. This includes but is not limited to: floor care (mopping, sweeping, buffing, stripping and waxing), cleaning bathrooms, emptying trash, separating recyclables, emptying garbage, wiping windows and walls, and cleaning stairways.
Able to work weekends and evenings as needed
Carry out minor repairs and building maintenance throughout assigned areas of the facility.
Responsible for exterior snow and ice removal as well as upkeep of the ground
This includes but is not limited to sidewalk maintenance, maintaining landscaping, and all other aspects of the building exterior.
Submit work orders as needed
Order maintenance supplies as needed (Bell System) ordering cleaning supplies, paper supplies, lightbulbs, garbage bags, etc. and maintaining biweekly inventory.
Assist Staff with special events by setting the chairs and tables up for use making sure the area is clean and safe for all
Maintain building maintenance tools and machinery to ensure that all items are in good working condition.
Assist in moving and storing program supplies, office furniture, office equipment, dorm furniture, consumer belongings, and other items in and around the facility when and where appropriate.
Comply with all SUS Employee Policies, Procedures and Protocols SUS Cooperate Compliance Policies
Willing to assist when EMERGENCIES arise in the Facility
Must wear SUS maintenance uniform and must maintain uniform so that it is clean and presentable at the start of each shift.
Attend staff meetings, group supervision, and trainings as assigned and required.
Responds to consumer needs promptly, accurately and with courtesy and respect
Represents the organization in a positive and appropriate manner to outside resources
Supports the mission and values of SUS and draws attention to behavior that undermines group effectiveness or is inconsistent with core values

REQUIREMENTS:
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or equivalent
A minimum of 2 years’ experience in maintenance
knowledge/experience working in the social service or related field
Experience working within a residential / Crisis / 24 hr service setting
Basic computer skills in Word, Excel, and Outlook
Basic knowledge of building maintenance tools and basic repairs
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
Bilingual English/Spanish speaking a plus
