Position Overview

SCOPE OF ROLE:

The Unit Leader will provide oversight to work units and supervise quality support services, ensuring that members receive the necessary degree of support to facilitate reaching their indicated goals.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Support the established Work Ordered Day within units
    • Engage clubhouse members in the kitchen, maintenance and clerical units, including working alongside members to execute tasks.
    • Be able to cook, complete job development and teach computer skills
    • Facilitate and participate in the day- to- day activities of an assigned unit on a rotating basis, with the emphasis on promoting consumer empowerment
    • Provides assistance, training, monitoring, and direction of members’ chosen unit activities, and other program related activities.
    • Make programming available in such a manner as to model mainstream community e.g. Celebrate holidays on the actual holiday.  Provide recreation and leisure, etc.
    • Accompany members on various group outings and social events.
    • Ensure that the assigned unit logbook is current and contains group notes, attendance sheets and monthly unit schedules.
    • Assist in facilitating groups as needed in the program on a day-to-day basis.
    • Supports Generalists as needed to develop individualized service plans that reflect members interests and expressed personal goals
    • Ensure that the members receive the necessary degree of support to facilitate reaching their indicated goals.
    • Coordinate, supervise and maintain member case records. Encourage and inspire members to work or attend school/training
    • Provide day to day supervision to generalists to support Clubhouse day to day operations
    • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field preferred. High school diploma/equivalency required. 
  • Minimum of one-year experience in Clubhouse, Case Management or similar role.
  • Basic computer skills required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

  • Ability to utilize various computer programs, specifically Microsoft Word and Excel preferred
  • A respect for, and high level of comfort around people experiencing psychiatric crisis preferred
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills including empathic listening, responding preferred
  • Knowledge of ICCD standards preferred
  • Bilingual English/Spanish a plus
