Position Overview

S:US is seeking an Assistant Program Director for their homeless prevention program Home Base.

 

 

This position is located at New York, NY 10033.

 

 

SCOPE OF ROLE:

 

The Assistant Program Director ensures that the Program Supervisors, Senior Case Managers, and Case Managers are providing quality service to individuals and families in need of homeless prevention services.

 

 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversight of Prevention Program at multiple locations. 
  • Provide individual and group supervision to Home-Base Program Supervisor, Senior Case Managers and Case Managers.  
  • Facilitate case conferences and ensure Senior Case Manager and Case Managers develop individualized housing and service plans, including paths to housing stability. 
  • Determine eligibility for program participants; ensure ineligible applicants are referred to additional community resources. 
  • Initial review and authorization of requests for financial assistance for all program participants. 
  • Monitor participants’ compliance with locating, obtaining and retaining suitable housing. 
  • Promote linkage with other service providers that will help participants obtain and maintain housing.
  • Conduct periodic internal file reviews and implement Quality Assurance measures to ensure compliance with DHS standards. 
  • Establish, coordinate and monitor corrective action plans that are necessary to correct deficiencies found through quality assurance activities. 
  • Monitor client databases; ensure timely data entry by all relevant staff. 
  • Collaborate with realtor's and property managers to locate and retain housing. 
  • Complete performance appraisals for direct reports. 
  • Assist in interviewing and selecting new employees. Orient new staff and develop staff training plans.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Services or related field required
  • Minimum of two (2) years of supervisory experience
  • Experience with homelessness and mental illness

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

  • Master’s degree preferred, professional license LMSW, LCSW, or LMHC preferred
  • Experience working with different populations preferred
  • Bilingual English/Spanish speaking preferred
