Position Overview

 

Program Director

  1. SCOPE OF ROLE:

The Program Director will provide clinical, supervision and administrative oversight of the Brooklyn Crisis Respite and Bright Corner respite programs.

  1. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Familiar with OMH and DOHMH guidelines as they apply to the community residence program and S:US agency policies.
  • Maintain and ensure Respite programs meet State License guidelines
  • Monitoring billing submission and maintaining billing state guidelines
  • Direct supervision to the Assistant Program Director/Clinical Coordinator and to all staff as needed with supporting documentation.
  • Develop individual Guest’s service plans in conjunction with the Guest and peer specialist feedback.
  • The Program Director is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of the Program, Guests and Staff by reporting damages and necessary upgrades in a timely manner and inform the Director of Psychosocial and Rehabilitation Services.
  • Ensure completion of utilization reviews, guest surveys, community meetings, outreaches, food and supplies order, fire drills, progress notes, follow-ups, supervisions, outreaches, chart reviews and accurate documentation is done by all staff members, maintaining the Program audit ready.
  • Participates in Guest’s safety planning, goal attainment, collateral contact and discharge planning for each guest to ensure their wellness.
  • Provides emergency and relief coverage as necessary.
  • Reports incidents to the necessary chains, following the incident review policy.
  • May represent agency and Program with community outreaches and presentations.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly reports for the Director of Psychosocial and Rehabilitation Services as requested, including any problems, proposals for changes in policies, program design, guest reviews and bed utilization reports.
  • Ensure daily operations are managed and staff workflow meets the Program’s requirements.
  • Secure full occupancy of the 3 bed /10 bed respites to meet the LOS (Length of stay) requirements.
  • Review progress notes and secure accurate monthly billing.
  • Complete staff timesheet weekly and approve vacation and time off requests.
  • Upgrade policies and procedures in conjunction with S:US policies and procedures and per state requirements
  • Provide staff trainings and in-services as needed to promote job effectiveness and performance.
  • Other duties as assigned or requested by the Director of Psychosocial and Rehabilitation Services.

Qualifications

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Master’s degree required
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of supervisory experience
  • Experience with mental health and substance use and recovery population
