Position Overview

 

S:US Is seeking a Receptionist for our homeless prevention program.

 

This position is located at West 181st Street (St. Nicholas Ave) New york, NY 10033

 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

The Receptionist ensures the smooth and efficient operation of the clerical and support services of the program

 

Essential Job Functions:

  • Greet visitors politely, efficiently, and in a courteous manner
  • Answer telephone, screen, route calls and take messages
  • Draft entry and correspondence maintaining confidentiality
  • Maintain organized files for applications and writing samples
  • Route incoming and outgoing mail from and between floors
  • Assist with copying and faxing documents
  • Preparation of and processing packages
  • Schedule interviews with prospective applicants
  • Complete other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  •  Minimum of one year of administrative experience.
  • Knowledge of community resources.
  • Working knowledge of homelessness, mental health, and substance abuse issues.
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong organization and communication skills.
