Position Overview

S:US is seeking a Food Services Manager for their mens shelter in Brooklyn.

 

This position is located at 1000 Blake Avenue Brooklyn, NY 10028

 

The Food Service Manager will manage and monitor all aspects of the development of a nutritious daily menu and meal preparation for 164 homeless individuals including those with special diets.

 

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree or Certification in Culinary Arts, Nutrition, or Education. NY State Food Handlers Certificate required, additional nutritional training, and certificates preferred.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in all aspects of food preparation, storage, and kitchen management in a large institutional/commercial setting. 
  • The ability to develop a Culinary Arts curriculum and provide Culinary Arts instruction, supervision, and job skills training to chronically homeless individuals with co-occurring disorders.
  • Bilingual preferred.
