Position Overview

Registered Nurse - Supportive Crisis Stabilization Center 

 

The RN will complete medical assessments and brief histories on all clients admitted to the program and will monitor and coordinate follow-up care as directed by Program Director.

 

JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Complete screening, assessments and Care of every client seeking SCSC services ( Adults/Youth/Children)
  • Evaluate severity of withdrawal symptoms using established screening tools.( If appropriate to Substance Use clients )
  • Coordinate delivery and reception of medications with pharmacy.
  • Document all medications received and coordinate management of the meds while client is at SCSC).
  • Observe self-administration of medications
  • Monitor withdrawal symptoms during detoxification according to established protocols.
  • Refer for required medical services as appropriate (Internal & External)
  • Provide education and consultation to individual clients and/or groups on their health needs.
  • Assure clients’ compliance with prescribe medical regimen.
  • Complete timely and accurate documentation on medical services rendered.
  • Complete all clinical documentation in EHR.
  • File all documents in the clients’ charts upon completion.
  • Manage inventory of medical supplies and coordinate replenishment with Office Manager.

**Part-time and Fee for Service also available**

Qualifications

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Master’s in Nursing preferred, Bachelor’s required, with NYS RN license
  • Knowledge of psychiatric disorders and chemical dependency preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Assessment and case management
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) speaking preferred
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office
