SCOPE OF ROLE:
The ENGAGE Clinical Coordinator will lead a team of “can-do” people who continually challenge the status quo, merging cutting-edge innovation with groundbreaking research to decrease disparities in mental health and substance use problems by utilizing technology and training to provide high quality and accessible mental health assessments, immediate care, and referrals, as well as promote financial wellness among vulnerable populations. The Clinical Coordinator will be based at an integrated OASAS 822 and Article 31 Outpatient Mental Health Clinic serving adults living with substance use disorders and mental illness; including clinical program development, supervision, training and evaluation of professional staff.
Salary $80,000 - $87,000
Location: East Harlem
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Assists in establishing effective and efficient operations in accordance with ENGAGE regulations.
• Lead in the clinical coordination of ENGAGE Community Mental Wellness Workers (CMWW).
• Work collaboratively with the Project Coordinator on establishing workflows, developing initiatives, and mental health curriculums for staff.
• Conducts clinical supervision of CMMW Outreach Specialists.
• Directly supervises data reporting from the Team Leaders utilizing the Columbia Tool.
• Work with the Columbia ENGAGE Team on Social Determinants of Health component of research that is relevant to served populations.
• Issue clinical recommendations to Program Coordinator to ensure proper compliance of program guidelines.
• Build relationships with S:US programs to develop inter-agency cross-collaboration.
• Pending IPC Supervisory certification, provide counsel and expert advice to the Director and other staff for quality and performance improvement.
• Actively monitors the integrity of consumer data; responsible for the reliability and accuracy of clinical data housed by S:US' Electronic Health Record (EHR) and Practice Management software; documents all services in accordance with S:US policies, OMH and OASAS regulations and all relevant federal laws; maintains the strict confidentiality of consumers currently engaged in or formerly a recipient of treatment services.
• In coordination with relevant members of the SUS management team, conducts outreach and marketing to potential referral sources internal and external to SUS; active liaison with community service providers, hospitals, and other prospective referral sources is may be required.
• Coordinates care with SUS nurse practitioners, psychiatrists and administrative staff; closely coordinates with clinicians external to SUS as appropriate.
• Assist in managing client crises and onsite and offsite emergencies.
• Perform other tasks as assigned.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
• Master’s Degree in Social Work required
• LMSW required
• 2+ years supervisory experience in social work
• Previous relevant experience in a Mental or Behavioral Health environment required.
• On Call Responsibilities as designated by Program Leadership.
• Must obtain mandated reporter (2 hours) prior to hire date.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and able to communicate both verbally and in written form.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to navigate sensitive discussions of mental health with empathy and patience.
• Create a culturally sensitive and affirming counseling environment.
• General knowledge of organization, community and/or social service resources programs.
• Must be able to multitask with strong organization skills.
• Ability to maintain a professional demeanor under pressure and operate with a keen sense of urgency and commitment to quality.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
Strong knowledge of OASAS (Part 822) and OMH regulations (Part 599).
Experience with diverse populations highly preferred.
Bilingual English/Spanish speaking.
