Position Overview

The Psychotherapist position is for our Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC), an integrated dually licensed clinic by OMH and OASAS with OMH as the host. As a CCBHC, we not only offer evidence-based and trauma informed treatment for mental illness/substance use but we also provide expanded care coordination and peer support services to people served. The psychotherapist works/collaborates with other members of the team (Targeted Case Managers, Certified Peers, Psychiatric providers and Registered nurses) to develop a treatment plan that effectively address behavioral, medical and social determinant needs of persons-served.   


The ideal candidate will have prior psychotherapy experience in a clinical setting working with a wide-ranging population, including those with: serious mental illness, substance abuse, forensic involvement and/or homelessness.  Some knowledge of community and government resources available to the underserved is beneficial. Fully licensed candidates with 2 years’ experience in an Article 31 setting strongly preferred. 

Wellness Works provides paid clinical supervision time and hours toward clinical licensure. Competitive rate based on skills and experience.


Position is located in Harlem, NY.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrated expertise in direct evidence-based clinical practice, hiring and supervision of clinical staff, clinic management.
  • Strong operational knowledge of Medicaid, Medicare, private insurers and Managed Care inclusive of laws, regulations, and the contracting process. 
  • Operational knowledge of budgeting and billing processes.
  • Demonstrated experience with diverse populations highly preferred; Spanish speakers are strongly encouraged to apply.
  • Excellent management/administrative skills; ability to multi-task; close attention to detail; ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.


  • LMSW, LCSW, LMHC, LCAT required
  • Familiarity with recovery-oriented, evidence-based clinical practice
  • High degree of computer literacy
  • Experience in an OASAS 822 and Article 31 Mental Health Clinic preferred
  • Experience with dually diagnosed individuals preferred
  • Demonstrated experience with diverse populations preferred
